We’re not a huge group, but we are a dedicated team of seasoned and senior advertising professionals that know how to get just about any job done right. We all have a specific craft that we bring to the office every day, but every single person at Red House is a problem solver.
President, Founder & CEOGloria has worked in advertising and marketing since 1980 after graduating with a BFA from Edinboro University in Communications/Graphics. While serving as Director of Account Services for an Erie/Pittsburgh advertising agency, Gloria developed marketing strategies for national clients such as Welch Foods, Apple Computer and Humana. After moving to Pittsburgh, she served as Director of Corporate Communications for West Penn Health System where she led its marketing, public and community relation efforts. She founded Red House in 1993, and since that time, her expertise has been invaluable in developing and directing consumer strategies for nearly every Red House account.
Managing Director & Director of StrategyA 2006 College of Wooster alum and Phi Beta Kappa graduate, Matt spent five years at Rapp/Los Angeles, the country’s largest direct marketing agency, working as Associate Creative Director and head of copy for Toyota, Charles Schwab and Bank of America developing highly effective direct response communications tools fueled by audience insights and testing. Matt also dedicated his time and considerable talents to supporting the efforts of Generosity Water — a non-profit organization that raises money and awareness for the global water crisis; Prevent Blindness/Northern CA; and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Texas. Matt has won a number of national creative awards for his work.
Director of PR and ResearchKaren’s diverse public affairs and public relations career spans 30 years, including as an account supervisor in Burson-Marsteller’s public affairs practice in Washington, D.C., and Pittsburgh, and marketing director for the Heinz History Center. She also has extensive experience in the education sector, including four years marketing a middle school science education program for the National Science Foundation, multiple projects for Bayer’s Making Science Make Sense initiative, and four years as communications director for Congressman Bill Goodling in his role as ranking minority member of the House Committee on Education and Labor. Karen has developed award-winning multi-faceted communications campaigns for the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance, Friends of the Allegheny County Regional Asset District and others. Karen earned a Bachelor of Science from Allegheny College in 1981, majoring in political science with a minor in history.
Media DirectorPete Baird has more than 10 years experience in developing successful media platforms and digital marketing strategies for brands at the international, national, and local levels. Pete has composed integrated interactive and traditional media plans for such prominent brands as Wal-Mart, AT&T, Cedar Fair Entertainment, BMW, Black & Decker, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. After a stint client-side running the digital marketing department at Kenny Ross Automotive, he now oversees media strategy, planning, and buying for all Red House clients. Pete received his undergraduate degree in advertising/public relations from Penn State in 2001 and graduated from the University of Maryland Smith College of Business with his MBA in 2009.
Associate Creative DirectorMarla Stresky has five plus years of experience in communications with an extensive background in digital strategy and design working with brands on the national, regional and local levels. Her list of national clients is almost as long as her hair and includes South Beach Diet, Rachael Ray Nutrish, GSK and Bob Evans. She has a degree from La Roche College in graphic design and communications as well as a degree from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in photography. Her enthusiasm and fresh approach to creative work has assisted in the launch of many integrated digital, print and social campaigns.
Art DirectorJustin Clawson has over 14 years of experience in print production, design and branding for variety of clients in the consumer packaged goods, healthcare, restaurant and financial sectors. Justin has worked on a wide range of national, regional and local clients includeing: GNC, GlaxoSmithKline, Musselman’s Apple Sauce, Steris, LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria’s and SSB. His strong design sense and eye for detail has helped launch and keep brand strategies relevant and vibrant in print and online.
Project ManagerIn Nicole, Red House found the perfect combination of project and account management experience, coupled with web design and marketing communications expertise. With three-years’ experience, Nicole knows the value of strong client and internal communications, and is well-versed in a wide range of software programs—from FileMaker to Microsoft Office. A graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, Nicole holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.
Senior Art DirectorJill has 20 years of experience working at Pittsburgh’s top agencies, most recently as Associate Creative Director at Brunner. She is widely known and respected for her award-winning creative for clients such as Pennsylvania Travel and Tourism, PPG Industries, Rite Aid Corporation, Philips Respironics, and Highmark. With a creative and design sense that's smart, sophisticated and quick to turn heads, her work has been recognized with numerous awards. She has also gained attention for her work on non-profit clients, including American Red Cross/SWPA and the national Make-a-Wish Foundation. Jill earned an Associate Degree in Visual Communications, 1985 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Media StrategistDevin’s expertise spans the areas of media strategy development, data management and analysis, media planning and buying and paid search in a wide variety of client industry segments, having worked with national and regional brands such as Rite Aid, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and DePaul University/Chicago. He is highly skilled at Google ad technology platforms and holds several certifications from Google, Bing and TubeMogul.
Senior Account ExecutiveLiz spent time ‘down under’ as a student at the University of Sydney and as an intern at Whybin/TBWA before moving to LA where she was an associate producer for Team One on Lexus. Liz then headed back east to NYC where she was an interactive producer for the famed agency Droga5. Love led her back to Pittsburgh where she worked as producer for Deeplocal, managing projects for Google and Carnival Cruise Lines. At Red House, Liz is a talented Senior Account Manager who never misses the details (even despite her severe case of far sightedness) on any of her varied accounts. She is a graduate of Penn State where she majored in Advertising while also a part-time soprano!
Finance ManagerAngie Balana has over 20 years experience in all facets of accounting. After earning her degree in accounting, she began her career in the automotive industry. She has also worked in the construction and property management industries, but has found her time in advertising the most satisfying – which makes one of us. She has been the accounting manager at Red House Communications for 9 years where she manages the accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable, general ledger through financial statements, payroll and employee benefits.
Senior Art DirectorJorge has a passion for all things that relate to visual communications; from smart, effective creative strategies to attention-getting design to meaningful UX. After graduating from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Jorge rapidly expanded his portfolio by working on an array of international, national and local clients, including Heinz, Coca-Cola, Transitions, Bath and Body Works, Rachel Ray Nutrish, and Carnegie Mellon. More than ten years later, Jorge’s developed a true expertise in digital strategy and user interface design, and a real talent for teamwork and communication.
Account PlannerWill’s passion for strategic solutions and his diverse range of client experience makes him a perfect fit for Red House and our clients. Over his seven-year career as an account executive, Will’s worked with clients in higher education, tourism, consumer packaged goods, transportation, public service and the financial industry; The University of Maryland, The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Reynolds American and others have benefited from his marketing savvy. Will is a graduate of West Virginia University.
Billing CoordinatorHeather Bucar began her career as a Certified Surgical Technologist at UPMC McKeesport. After taking time off from work to be a full-time Mom, Heather became eager to return to the workforce. She returned to school to pursue a degree in Accounting and is now assisting Angie in the finance department at Red House. Heather spends her free time volunteering with her two children's athletic teams in Pittsburgh.
